The best snorkeling locations in Costa Rica are found at Islands off the shore of the Pacific Coast and are accessed by boat. For mixed group of divers and snorkelers, your options are to join the public dive boat or privately charter the dive boat.

The most popular tours for snorkelers and passengers, which suitable for all ages, are the spectacular catamaran tours. These are categorized as half or full day, public or private charters. They all feature an open bar, gourmet snacks & meals. You can also Paddle Board and Kayak from most of them. These Catamarans are suitable for group sizes of 10 to 40 persons.

You can enjoy snorkeling in Costa Rica any time of the year, but to get the best snorkeling conditions, when the seas are calm, clear, warm, and lively, plan your holidays between June and September. Throughout the year water temperatures range from 21C/70F in Winter, to 28C/83F in Spring to Fall.
